From A Small Town Girl To A Country Diva .
Everyone knows Dolly Parton.
A great Country Singer, Actress, Songwriter etc.
Ms. Parton was one of 12 siblings, was 'dirt poor' as how she decribed her family when she was young.
But nobody thought that she would grow up and fill the seats of concert halls.
I've heard about Dolly Parton when I was a young boy.
But I've never heard her voice before.
The first time I've ever heard a Dolly song was 'Coat of Many Colors', on YouTube, with Shania Twain.
From then on, I wanted more of Dolly's songs, which lead me to hits such as 'Jolene', 'I Will Always Love You'; which is totally different from Whitney Houston's.
Dolly Parton never thought she'll get this far.
Soon, she also recorded an album called Trio featuring Emmylou Harris and Linda Rostandt.
Later, recorded an album with Country Divas, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette called the Honky Tonk Angels.
She's also dubbed Country music's best storyteller, telling stories about her childhood and life through her songs.
From the 1960s till the 1990s, Dolly Parton has already become a international icon.
People say it's her look, others say it's her chest.
But no doubt, this small town girl has turned into a diva.
She received 25 RIAA certified Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum records.
Has 26 songs that reached Country Billboard's no. 1 position.
Has 41 career top 10 country albums and
110 career charted singles for the past 40 years.
Received 7 Grammies and had 42 nominations
Won 3 AMAs and had 18 nominations and
Won 10 CMA awards and had 39 nominations.
She's only one out of 5 other female artistes including Reba McEntire, Barbara Mandrell, Shania Twain and Loretta Lynn to win the title of CMA's 'Entertainer of the Year'.
She was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1984 and
In 1999, she received Country's highest honor of being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
